To overcome these bottlenecks and ensure consistent quality, Cisel partnered with OMRON to implement automated PCB testing using the TM5-900 collaborative robot.
The OMRON TM5 cobot, featuring integrated vision and auto-calibration, managed every step of electrical testing for power steering PCBs: picking boards, placing them on the tester, and sorting approved or rejected units. With the OMRON OS32C laser scanner, safety was always maintained—automatically slowing or stopping the cobot if personnel approached. All operations were coordinated by the OMRON NX102 controller, which captured real-time production data and ensured full traceability.
Automated PCB testing enabled Cisel to test up to 400 boards per hour, for two full shifts, with zero human error. This transformation of their quality control process delivered safer, faster, and fully traceable results for demanding applications.
