CP Foods UK, a major supplier to leading retailers and foodservice operators, faced increasing pressure as traditional packing lines struggled to keep up with changing market demands. Manual processes led to frequent downtime, high maintenance needs, and limited flexibility—making it challenging to achieve ambitious throughput and quality targets.
To address these challenges, CP Foods UK partnered with Gripple Automation and OMRON to implement a new robotic packing solution. The system features two Hornet parallel robots equipped with a custom multi-stack gripper, designed by Gripple Automation, to handle 120 sealed trays per minute. Powered by OMRON’s Sysmac automation platform, the line achieves 85% OEE and less than 1% rejects, delivering reliable, high-quality results at scale.
Servo-driven automation ensures smooth, quiet operation, while the integrated control environment brings together robotics, vision, safety, and motion in one system. Engineers and operators benefit from simplified machine control and gain valuable new skills. The scalable platform allows CP Foods UK to adapt quickly to changing retailer requirements and future projects, ensuring long-term flexibility and resilience.
