Automated Transport Saves Brd. Klee 6 km of Manual Labor Each Day
Reducing repetitive manual handling in order fulfillment
Brd. Klee, a Danish distributor of electric motors and gears, needed to improve internal logistics between its warehouse and shipment areas. Employees were manually moving goods across an 80-meter route 30 to 40 times each day, adding up to more than 6 kilometers of walking and material transport. This repetitive process reduced productivity, created ergonomic concerns, and kept skilled employees away from more valuable work.
To reduce manual handling, Brd. Klee partnered with Ølgod Elektro and OMRON to introduce an Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) solution. The company deployed an LD-250 AMR to transport up to 10 loaded carts at a time between warehouse and shipping. The system is managed by OMRON Sysmac software and NX102 controller, helping coordinate transport tasks and integrate the AMR with existing workflows.
Since deploying the AMR, Brd. Klee has automated more than 6 kilometers of daily internal transport and eliminated 30 to 40 repetitive trips each day. The solution has helped improve ergonomics, reduce unnecessary walking, and give employees more time to focus on higher-value tasks within the order fulfillment process.

“The new process works very well, we save many working hours on the transport time of the goods back and forth, and we have taken full advantage of the AMR solution. Also, we need to transport heavy parts, and we want to spare our employees and take good care of them. So, the mobile robot contributes to a better and safer working environment too.” — Claus Andersen, Team Leader, Warehouse & Logistics, Brd. Klee
