Teklas Eliminates Manual Handling with OMRON AMR Automation

Transforming internal logistics for greater efficiency and fewer errors
Teklas, a global leader in automotive fluid management systems, set out to modernize internal logistics across 12 factories in 6 countries. At their Bartın facility, manual processes—such as checking box codes and moving products with pallet trucks—led to inefficiencies and increased the risk of errors. To overcome these challenges and support sustainability goals, Teklas partnered with Peak Porter to implement a fully automated storage and transport solution using OMRON Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs).
With the new system, OMRON LD-60/90 AMRs and a barcode-based identification process now handle all internal product movement and storage. Incoming products are picked up, loaded onto conveyors, and automatically routed to designated storage cells—completely hands-free. The robots follow digitally mapped routes, moving directly between drop-off and pick-up stations. This approach to warehousing automation has replaced all internal manual movement, minimized disruptions, and improved both efficiency and sustainability.
Teklas reports a significant reduction in errors and manual labor, along with lower energy use and waste. The facility now benefits from a fully digital, precisely mapped workflow that supports their commitment to sustainable production.
Watch Teklas’ story:
“In our AMR process, we use OMRON mobile robots, so all internal human movement and workforce tasks are now handled entirely by robots. Previously, these tasks were done manually, but now we achieve everything with automation. The barcode system provides automatic identification of the boxes, enabling the robots to know exactly which part to take to each location. During setup, we map out the robot routes, so they automatically go to the correct stations to drop off and pick up products.” — Logistics and Planning Manager, Teklas
