Transforming end-of-line logistics in a space-constrained facility
Diva International, a leading producer and distributor of personal care and cleaning products in Italy, faced mounting logistical challenges as demand for its wet wipes surged. With five active production lines and a warehouse limited by space, manual palletizing and transport were causing inefficiencies and increasing the risk of errors. The company needed a solution capable of managing over 8000 packs daily—across 60 different box formats—while upholding strict hygiene and safety standards.
To overcome these obstacles, Diva International partnered with FM Vision and OMRON to implement a state-of-the-art warehouse automation system. Central to this transformation are five OMRON LD-90 Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and the Sysmac NJ machine controller, which together automate the transfer of packaged wet wipes from production lines to palletizing stations. The AMRs navigate complex routes and adapt dynamically to obstacles, ensuring smooth and efficient material flow.
Advanced navigation and real-time integration with Diva’s IT systems enable precise, millimeter-level handling—even with diverse package sizes and weights. The Sysmac NJ controller coordinates every phase, from order intake to traceable fulfillment, while smart charging routines keep operations running at peak efficiency. By separating production and palletizing areas, the solution also reinforces the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
