Which industrial robots does OMRON Robotics offer?
Omron offers three industrial product lines: SCARA with the i4H, i4L, and eCobra; Parallel Robots with the iX3, Hornet, iX4, and Quattro; and Articulated Robots with the Viper. These robots excel in various manufacturing processes such as assembly, packaging, and material handling, providing efficient production solutions across industries like automotive, electronics, and food and beverage.
How do Omron’s robots enhance production efficiency?
Omron’s robots enhance production efficiency with tailored solutions for various industries. SCARA robots deliver fast, precise handling for assembly and packaging, while parallel robots excel in high-speed pick-and-place tasks. Articulated robots offer flexibility for demanding processes. They can be used as standalone units or work seamlessly together to fulfill complex needs. With the addition of controllers, part feeders, ACE software, and integration into automation solutions, they optimize operations and maximize productivity.
What are SCARA robots used for?
SCARA stands for Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm. These robots have four motion axes allowing for movement in X, Y, Z, and rotation. Known for their speed and accuracy, SCARA robots are ideal for tasks like pick and place, packaging, and basic assembly. Their design offers a fan-shaped work envelope, making them perfect for precise and rapid operations.
What are parallel robots used for?
Parallel robots are known for their speed and large unobstructed work areas. They’re perfect for high-speed applications like picking and placing items on conveyor belts, common in the food, beverage, and packaging industries. Despite their speed, they maintain sufficient accuracy for tasks in automotive and semiconductor manufacturing.
What are articulated robots used for?
Articulated robots, featuring 5 axes or more, are ideal for applications requiring extensive tool movement. They excel in tasks needing parts to be flipped or rotated, such as sealing applications where the dispense tip must be positioned at multiple angles. Their versatility makes them suitable for complex assembly processes and tasks requiring precise manipulation.
What models are available in Omron’s AMR lineup?
Omron’s AMR lineup includes the LD-Series with the LD-60, LD-90, and LD-250, all available with optional ESD versions for static-sensitive environments. The OL-Series features the OL-450S with adjustable deck height and omnidirectional drive. The MD-Series includes the MD-650 and MD-900, while the HD-Series boasts the HD-1500, our strongest mobile robot for heavy-duty material transport. These models can be enhanced with versatile accessories and collaborative robots to form Mobile Manipulators.
What are AMRs used for?
Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) are intelligent machines that navigate and operate independently in dynamic environments. Unlike fixed-path systems, they use advanced sensors and software to understand their surroundings, make real-time decisions, and adapt to changes without constant human control. AMRs streamline assembly processes, connect workstations, and move goods across facilities. They are also used in non-industrial roles, such as delivering items in hotels, inspecting inventories, and disinfecting public spaces with UV light.
What are Mobile Manipulators used for?
Mobile Manipulators, or MoMas, combine the mobility of AMRs with the dexterity of collaborative robots, creating a flexible solution for complex tasks. They are used in settings where both movement and manipulation are required, such as picking and placing items, assembling products, or performing quality inspections. MoMas are ideal for environments where tasks vary frequently, and they can adapt quickly to new processes, enhancing productivity and efficiency in dynamic settings.
How do AMRs enhance operational efficiency?
AMRs enhance operational efficiency by automating material transport, reducing manual handling, and minimizing downtime. Their ability to navigate autonomously and adapt to changing environments allows for continuous operation without the need for fixed infrastructure. By integrating AMRs with existing workflows, businesses can streamline processes, improve accuracy, and reduce costs. The scalability and flexibility of AMRs make them an ideal solution for dynamic and evolving operational needs.
Can all AMRs be managed with the same software?
Yes, Omron’s Fleet Management System, FLOW Core, allows seamless management of up to 100 AMRs, tailored to your operational needs. It supports all our AMR models, enabling centralized control and optimized operations. With FLOW Core, you can monitor robot status, manage tasks, and ensure efficient coordination, maximizing the productivity of your autonomous fleet.
What is a collaborative robot?
A collaborative robot (Cobot), is designed to work alongside humans in close proximity. The distinction of being collaborative depends on both the robot hardware and the application. The hardware must meet safety requirements set by the Robotics Industry Association (RIA) for safe operation. The application environment must not present hazardous conditions that could harm a person. Cobots are often easy to set up and program by novice users and are speed- and force-limited to ensure safe collaboration.
What are Omron’s collaborative robot lines?
Omron offers two collaborative robot (Cobot) lines: the TM Series and the TM S Series. The TM S Series is the next-generation line featuring advanced safety features and includes models like TM5S, TM7S, TM12S, TM14S, TM25S, and TM30S. The TM Series includes models such as TM5-700, TM5-900, TM12, TM14, TM16, and TM20. Both series can be upgraded with accessories like the Mobile Workstations and plug-and-play solutions like grippers to boost productivity.
What are Collaborative Robots used for?
Cobots are versatile and used across industries such as manufacturing, logistics, pharmaceuticals, electronics, food, and agriculture. In manufacturing, they assist with assembly, machine tending, quality inspection, material handling, and palletizing. In logistics, they handle picking and placing tasks. Cobots also automate tasks in pharmaceuticals, electronics, and food industries, enhancing efficiency and safety.
How do Cobots benefit industries?
Cobots improve safety by working alongside humans, reducing injury risks and handling high-risk or repetitive tasks. They enhance efficiency with faster and more accurate task execution while lowering labor costs by minimizing manual work. Cobots are flexible, easily reprogrammable for various tasks, and can be deployed in smaller spaces, optimizing workspace layouts.
How are Cobots programmed and set up?
Cobots are user-friendly, often allowing novice users to program them through hand-guided setups. The built-in TMFlow software provides simple drag-and-drop programming, making it easy to use while offering powerful capabilities. For those needing more, Omron provides add-on software options for enhanced functionality. This combination of ease of use and advanced features ensures seamless integration into existing workflows.
